No Signal: A good news has emerged for mobile phone users. Many times we have to face the problem of no signal in the phone. If you also face problem in calling due to lack of mobile network, now this problem is about to end. In fact, even if there is a problem in your operator’s network, now you will be able to make calls easily.
With an aim to promote Digital India, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has launched the Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) facility. Through this facility, BSNL, Jio and Airtel users can avail 4G services using any available network, even when they are out of the coverage area of their network. The initiative was announced during the unveiling of new 4G mobile sites, which are supported by Digital India Fund (DBN).
Under this new feature, DBN-funded towers now support multiple telecom operators, allowing customers to make calls or use data even when their primary network does not have a signal. Launched in partnership between India’s three largest telecom companies BSNL, Airtel and Jio, this initiative will help in eliminating network problems of mobile users in more than 35,400 rural and remote areas by using approximately 27,000 towers. Its benefit will be that users of different operators can now enjoy high speed 4G connectivity from the same tower.
The fund known as Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) is now known as Digital India Fund (DBN) and it plays a very important role in connecting India. Through funding to deploy towers in rural areas, DBN wants to ensure that people in these areas have access to 4G connections without any interruption.
Describing the move as a collective effort, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that 27,836 sites in the country will enable Inter-connection Roaming (ICR) services. He also said that this step strengthens mobile broadband connections and offers better access to communication and digital services to people in rural areas.
