Under the direction of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Bharti Airtel has changed the benefits of its two prepaid plans. According to this instruction, it is mandatory for telecom companies to provide Special Tariff Voucher (STV) along with voice and SMS services. These changes have affected prepaid plans of ₹ 509 and ₹ 1,999. Now both these plans will provide less benefits than before.
Airtel’s Rs 509 plan
Airtel’s Rs 509 prepaid plan comes with a validity of 84 days and includes unlimited voice calls and 900 free SMS. Apart from this, users also get additional benefits like Airtel Xstream App, Apollo 24/7 Circle Membership and Free Hello Tune. However, this plan no longer includes mobile data, which was earlier available at 6GB.
If you need some data along with voice and SMS, then Airtel’s Rs 569 plan can be a better option. It also gets 6GB mobile data with the same validity, voice and SMS facilities.
Airtel’s Rs 1,999 plan
Changes have been made in the annual prepaid plan of Rs 1,999. Earlier, unlimited voice calling, 3,000 free SMS and 24GB mobile data were given in this plan. Although mobile data is no longer included in the updated plan, the facility of unlimited voice calling and SMS remains intact. Along with this, additional benefits include access to Airtel Xstream App, Apollo 24/7 Circle Membership and free Hello Tune.
Under TRAI directives, it is mandatory for operators to provide Special Tariff Voucher (STV) for voice and SMS services. In response, Airtel has introduced new plans that offer better benefits for voice and SMS but have limited data options. This means customers may now need to purchase separate data packs.
